Assalam alaikum warahmatullahe wabarkatohu
Dear brothers and sisters
As we know that some of family members or relatives or friends has passed away
So they can’t do any good deed, therefore they can’t earn reward by their own deeds
But they have much required rewards
So, do they get reward if we give charity on their behalf?
Does they get relief (from punishment if any or higher in rank if they already in enjoyments)?
So let us know answers of these questions in light of Glorious Qur’an and teaching of Prophet Muhammadﷺ—
Rewards for those who passed away
Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with them, narrated that: Allah’s Messenger said: “Qintar is twelve thousand ‘Uqiyah, each ‘Uqiyah of which is better than what is between heaven and earth.” And
the Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) said:
A man will be raised in status in Paradise and will say: ‘Where did this come from?’ And it will be said:
‘From your son’s praying for forgiveness for you.
Hasan : Sunan Ibn Majah 3660
A’isha said that a person came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and said:
My mother died suddenly without having made any will. I think she (my mother) would have definitely given Sadaqa if she had been able to speak. Would she (my mother) have a reward if I gave Sadaqa on her behalf? He (the Holy Prophet) said: Yes.

* From the above hadith we came to know that if we give charity on behalf of our relatives, family members or friends who passed away , then definitely they get reward of what we give charity from lawful earning and sincerely for shake of Almighty Allah and for helping others (who have needs).
* Insha Allah, person who gives charity and the one for whom charity is given both will be rewarded by Almighty Allah’s mercy
