Abandoning Brothers​ , friends or relatives​


Anas b. Malik ( ra ) reported the Messenger of Allah (saws ) as saying:

Do not hate each other; do not envy each other; do not desert each other; and be the servants of Allah (swt) as brethren. It is not allowed for a Muslim (or momin ) to keep apart from his brother for more than three (3) days.

Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (ra ) reported the Messenger of Allah (Saws ) as saying :

it is not allowable for a Muslim to keep apart from his brother for more than 3 days. When they meet, this turns away from him, and that turns away from him. The better (excellent ) of the 2 is the one who initiates in salutation.

The Messenger of Allah (saws ) said: It is not right for a Muslim to keep apart from another Muslim for more than 3 days. Then when he meets him and gives 3 salutations, receiving during that time no response, the other bears his sin.

Abu Hurairah (ra ) reported the Messenger of Allah (saws ) as saying:

The gates of Paradise are opened on Mondays and Thursdays, and forgiveness is granted to every man who does not associate anything with Allah (swt) except for a man between whom and his brother there is rancor. Command will be given that they should be given respite till they conciliate.
